The staff and volunteers of Christ the King are devoted to our Lord and the work He has entrusted to them through the many ministries of Christ the King.  Although each ministry of the Center has a unique focus, the staff and volunteers are united by a common heart - to serve and minister to individuals, families and groups who come for programs, retreats, events, worship and Summer Camp.

 

Christ the King is Now Hiring for the Following Positions:

  • Executive Director Search

    • ‚ÄčPosition Description:

      The Executive Director oversees all ministries and operations of the Center including program planning, financial planning and management, human resource management, marketing, development, fund raising, and strategic planning.  The ministries of the Center include healing prayer, group and individual retreats, youth ministry (including summer camp, daycare and after school program), worship services, religious and secular conferences, lodging and dining, and educational programing.  The executive director reports to the Bishop and the center’s Board.

  • Dining & Events Attendants
    • Part of a team responsible for serving up to 300 people for daily dining, barbecues and special dining events
    • Weekday and Weekend positions available
    • Minimum age 16
    • Food service experience preferred, $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
  • After School Aide
    • Afternoons 2:30-6PM
    • Accepting 11th & 12th graders interested in working with children
    • Must love kids!
  • Day Care Staff
    • Must love kids!
    • Flexible part-time hours.
  • Cook, Part-Time
    • Part of a team responsible for preparing and serving three daily meals for overnight guests, snack service for guest groups, barbecues as needed, and special dining events
    • Minimum age 18 for cooks and 16 for dishwashers
    • Cooking experience necessary, $14.00 per hour

Volunteer Opportunities

 

Summer Positions

Summer and Beaver Cross Camp positions require staff to live on-site in a camp & conference center setting.  The Center is open seven days a week.  Days off during any specific week vary for each position.  Employment compensation for summer ministry positions includes lodging, meals, program and weekly stipend.

Propsective staff members must complete the madatory orientation 2016 Dates TBA.

 

Summer Camp Counselors

  • Male and female counselors are the key to an outstanding camp experience for campers of all ages.  Counselors serve as "surrogate parents" and Christian role models.  They make camp great by creating an atmosphere of encouragement, community and safety.
  • Qualifications: minimum age 18, very strong skills working with children aged 5-17
  • Overnight Camp: June 26 - August 7, $1650 seasonal stipend
  • Day Camp: June 26 - August 27, $1800 seasonal stipend

 

High & Low Ropes Certified Instructor
  • From June 26 - August 26
  • Responsible to lead and mange a team to facilitate the High & Low Ropes needs for the center. This includes Beaver Cross Overnight and Day Camps (Grades K-12) and any guest groups using the facility. We run about 50 to 120 children a week between the two camps. Average group size on the ropes course is 20 people or less at one time.
  • Hourly rate of pay.

 

Maintenance Team

  • Part of a team responsible for the general maintenance of 600 acres and 22 buildings including lawn care, vegetable and flower gardens, building repair, roads, painting, vehicle maintenance, trash removal, acivity areas, lake, and site safety.
  • Qualifications: minimum age 18, valid driver's license, maintenance related experience
  • June 22 - August 27, $2025 seasonal stipend

 

Kitchen Team

  • Part of a team responsible for safely preparing meals for 300+ people including summer camp, guests and events.  Specific duties include washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, and light food preparation.
  • Qualifications: minimum age 17, food service related experience
  • June 22 - Aug 27, $2025 seasonal stipend

 

Dining Team

  • Part of a team responsible for serving meals in Trinity Dining Room and at various locations throughout the Center, and keeping these areas cleaned and organized.
  • Qualifications: minimum age 17, must love to serve and clean
  • June 22 - Aug 27, $2025 seasonal stipend

 

Housekeeping

  • Part of a team responsible for everything related to cleaning guest lodging rooms and common spaces.
  • Qualifications: minimum age 16, must love to clean
  • June 22 - Aug 27, $2025 seasonal stipend

 

Beachfront Lifeguard

  • Part of a team responsible for the professional lifeguard supervision of the swimming beach and lake boating at Christ the King, including summer camp and other guests of the Center.
  • Qualifications: minimum age 17
    • ARC Certifications (or other certifications authorized by the NYS Department of Health) including Lifeguard Training for Beaches, Standard First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.  ***Please note that CPR must be updated yearly for lifeguarding in NYS regardless of the expiration date noted
  • June 26 - Aug 26,
